AsLab Aroma and Sensory Laboratory is specialized and equipped for chemical and sensory analyses; areas of specialty include food, crop production, packaging and environment. In particular, it has great expertise in food odor and aroma and in general in volatile chemical detection and measurement.

AsLab has been established within the University of Messina with the financial support of Agrivet-Project:  Innovation Centre of quality, traceability and certification systems in agri-food. It has innovative analytical instruments such as mono and two-dimensional gas chromatographs coupled with mass spectrometers and a sensory laboratory for the analysis of food and non-food products.
